"My motor home (or truck) is rated to be able to handle the tongue weight and gross weight of my trailer, why do I need a Trailer Toad?"
The short answer is: "In almost every case the Trailer Toad will prevent premature wear to the coach frame, rear cap structure and floor.
The static tongue weight and trailer weight is not the issue with diesel pushers or one ton trucks. The problem is the constant "pounding" on the hitch/frame/body as the rig goes down our "less than smooth" highways.
Here is an example- you are towing your trailer down a normal highway, you come to a bridge and we all know there is a small "ramp", it is called the approach, where the highway meets the bridge. For some reason they are NEVER the same level.
We did load tests on top of the trailer ball and we recorded "weight spikes" on the trailer ball in excess of 5,000 lbs on bridge approaches. Yes, it was for just an instant but it was like a giant sledge-hammer hitting the coach frame over and over again. THAT..is where the damage is coming from.

This photo shows the result of the "constant pounding" the receiver hitches take on today's highways. This one "gave up" as they were pulling into an event. LUCKILY there was no damage (except the need for a new hitch!) but I would say blood pressures were a little high after seeing this.

Motor home towing issues:
The most common problem with towing with motor home is the overhang in the rear and they simply were not designed to carry the tongue weight of larger, heavier trailers.
The Trailer Toad will carry that tongue weight with none of the trailer tongue weight being transferred to the motor home. All you will have to do is pull the trailer and of course, stop the trailer.
